Ólafur Andri Ragnarsson is a serial entrepreneur who founded his first company at the dawn of the Internet revolution in 1993, an e-commerce company that pivoted into an ISP with an exit in 2004. Founded Betware, a technical vendor in the lottery industry, in 1998. Ólafur Andri was the Chief Software Architect and took part in developing the platform used by the company to successfully launch digital solutions of several lotteries around the world. Betware was acquired by to Novomatic Group in 2013.
Ólafur Andri has the faculty position adjunct and has been on the faculty of Reykjavík University School of Computer Science for many years. He teaches a course called New technology, covering emerging trends in technology. This course is business oriented and focuses on how technology impacts business.
